We at Geiri Smart Restaurant would like to introduce Jakob Mielcke, our Food & Fun’s guest chef for this year.
Jakob Mielcke is an autodidact chef who has travelled the world. He has worked with great masters such as Pierre Gagnaire, both in his restaurants in London and in the infamous three-Michelin-starred on in Paris. In 2002 he returned to Denmark as head chef at Jan Hurtigkarl & Co. In 2008 he opened Mielcke & Hurtigkarl together with Jan Hurtigkarl in the Royal Garden Society where he now explores his creative vision.
Since the opening in 2008, the autodidact chef has won praise for his characteristic contemporary food. Winner of numerous awards in and outside Denmark. A darling among food critics who originally trained at Pierre Gagnaire in Paris and later at Lecture room & library, Sketch in London before settling in native Denmark where he established a unique, multi-cultural and creative playground in a hidden garden in central Copenhagen.
Jakob is the Executive Chef & Partner at Mielcke & Hurtigkarl. The restaurant is one of the top-rated restaurants in Copenhagen. Jakob is also one of three judges in Masterchef Denmark and has been for four seasons.
Sebastian Kofi will accompany Jakob this year. Sebastian is the Sous Chef at Mielcke & Hurtigkarl. He works close to Jakob in the development of dishes and optimisation of the kitchen.
Sebastian is growing to be one of the top chefs in Denmark as he is winning many various chef competitions in Danemark, most recently The Danish young chef competition.
Having a foreign mother, Sebastian is well-known to various food cultures which is one of the key inspirations at Mielcke & Hurtigkarl.
We are thrilled to get Jakob and Sebastion as guest chefs and look forward to sharing his expertise with our guests.
